A peaceful march once morest fossil fuels in London, UK, was disrupted by a man who physically attacked protesters on Friday.
In a video relayed by the group “Just Stop Oil”, which made the rounds of social networks, we can first see the individual tearing the banners from the hands of the activists who block traffic while walking slowly on a London street.

???? Some violence is obvious, and some is hidden.
????️ The hidden violence of approving new oil and gas, when people are dying in floods and wildfires is extreme.

Subsequently, the man violently threw a demonstrator to the ground, then began to push several other activists so that they cleared the road. He is also seen grabbing the phone of someone filming him and throwing the device away.
In commentary to the video, the group “Just Stop Oil” contrasted the violence of this man with that of the governments which allow the exploitation of fossil fuels and, consequently, which cause the death of many people.
“Everyone understands how frustrating it is to see traffic disrupted. However, as of this morning, 13 people have died and another 13,000 have had to be evacuated to Italy due to six months’ worth of rain falling in 36 hours.
“250,000 people have lost their homes in Somalia due to flooding, despite the country experiencing its worst drought in 40 years. The disruption on Britain’s streets pales in comparison to what’s to come if we stop exploiting oil, gas and coal,” the environmental group adds.
