Priscilla Presley wanted to be buried next to Elvis Presley but her request was denied.
The actress was in a dispute with her granddaughter Riley Keough over the estate of her late daughter Lisa Marie Presley, and although the case was resolved this week, the 77-year-old star had to backtrack on a point.
Sources told TMZ that Priscilla wanted a place near her ex-husband – who died in 1977 – at his Graceland estate, however the graves of his mother and father rest on either side of the singer.
Her request having been deemed “null”, Priscilla backtracked without much discussion.
She said: “Even though I have no plans to go anywhere anytime soon. My family and I want me to rest with my daughter and the love of my life when the time is right. We appreciate the love from all the fans”.
Attorney Ronson J Shamoun, who represented Priscilla, told a Los Angeles court hearing on Tuesday (16.05.23): “Both sides would like to announce that they have reached an agreement. The families are happy. Everyone is happy, united, together, and excited for the future.”
Details of Priscilla’s deal with Riley – which is due to be sealed at an additional hearing on Friday, August 4 – were not disclosed in court, but TMZ reported the actress was awarded “millions” , while her granddaughter’s attorney, Justin Gold, told CNN she was “very pleased.”
