In the presence of Mr. Hon. Khalid S. Mohamed, Minister of Infrastructure, Communication and Transport, Tony Stenning, Southern Africa Regional Director of AGL (Africa Global Logistics), and Nahaat Mahfoud, Managing Director of Zanzibar Ports Corporation, proceeded on May 18 2023, upon signature of the Malindi Port container terminal management contract in Zanzibar.
AGL will provide cargo handling operations as well as maritime services on the country’s main port infrastructure. The company undertakes to implement an investment program for the modernization and development of the Port of Malindi. AGL is also considering the construction of an unloading area outside the Port, necessary to unclog the port.
« We are going beyond the operational improvements of this port, as we are determined to invest in its development, to attract a greater diversity of shipping lines and to stimulate trade volumes”, said Tony Stenning during the signing ceremony.
This agreement will enable the country to have a modern infrastructure, capable of ensuring, thanks to AGL’s experience in the management of port terminals, the country’s imports and exports under conditions of quality, safety and safety, in accordance with international standards.
