CFMoto tricylindrical

Through cyberspace there are some drawings of the three-cylindrical future of CFMotowhich, as we have said, is reminiscent of the Turismo Veloce (even with regard to the single-sided swingarm) but which also takes “notes” from other successful models such as the Triumph Tiger Sport 660 and the Yamaha Tracer 9, two brands that bet strongly on the benefits of the three-cylinder. Let’s remember that KTM distributes CFMoto in several European countries (including Spain) and, at the same time, the Austrian house has acquired part of the property of MV Agusta. Therefore, some kind of collaboration between the Italian and the Chinese company would not be unreasonable.

Information coming from Asia suggests that Loncin is another company that works on a three-cylinder 800 cc for its brand Vogue. For his part, Zonts has already announced a three-cylinder 800 cc and 100 HP of power. The drawings you see here are from a CFMoto patent and would be the first engine of the Asian company with more than two cylinders. According to this drawing, it might also be a motor with “counter-rotating” crankshaft (which rotates backwards than the wheels), technology used in MotoGP and for a few street bikes (Ducati) but that we have already seen in some other patent…

The three-cylinder engine CFMoto It would use state-of-the-art technology with liquid cooling, electronic injection, double overhead camshaft (DOHC) and 4 valves per cylinder. It is not clear, but everything indicates that the “triple” would lead the crankshaft to 120 degrees. It is unknown when this model would arrive in the series but, until now, the Chinese brand has always ended up manufacturing the prototypes that it had previously patented…
