On the 22nd of May, Monday, at 10am, the short course “Creating the engineering of products” will be given. The training, lasting up to two hours, is online and free for managers, industry employees and university students across the country.
Participants will learn the concepts and also, in a practical way, how to engineer a product, including registering it in a real ERP management system. In addition, students will have access to a worksheet to practice the topics covered.
The creation of the list of materials will be taught, which is the composition of all the inputs and their quantities involved in the manufacture of a product, and also the generation of the production script, which is the step by step to create the product or provision of industrial service.
According to the production engineer and director of a technology company for industries, João Pimenta, it is essential that the factories have control over the exact composition of their products and that they have control over these records in an organized way. “Especially smaller companies and those that work with special projects face the challenge of mastering the engineering of their product mix, which is terrible for managing the shop floor and healthy business growth,” commented João.
According to the specialist, who will be the lecturer in this training, the creation of product engineering structures the good management of several sectors within an industry, such as production, purchases, inventory and even costs. “Product engineering is like thinking regarding a cake recipe, where we have to consider all the ingredients, the quantities, the order in which everything will be mixed and the preparation steps. However, sometimes we are talking regarding products with hundreds of inputs in their composition, with high complexity”, he added.
The mini-course “Creating product engineering” is part of the program for the II Industrial Management in Practice Week, which includes four other training courses: “PCP: what you need to know”; “Making the production schedule”; “Efficient stock control” and “Sales price formation with cost analysis”. Daily, a short course will be released at ten o’clock and will be available until the end of the event so that it can be attended at the best time for the student. Participation is completely free, with the materials in video, PDF and Excel hosted on the Nomus academia teaching platform, and confers a certificate.
