The municipalities of the respective district work together in the 15 social welfare associations (SHV), especially with regard to the organization of care for the elderly (the statutory cities of Linz, Wels and Steyr have their own regulations). This involves a budget volume of around one billion euros, the SHV is responsible for around 11,000 employees in inpatient and around 2300 employees in mobile care.
Social Provincial Councilor Wolfgang Hattmansdorfer (VP) has now entrusted the former director of the Upper Austrian State Audit Office, Friedrich Pammer, with the project management for the further development and reorganization of the activities of the SHV. Pammer retired at the end of 2022, having previously been LRH Director for ten years, and now serves as a strategic advisor. The main focus of the project should be the recruitment of additional staff and digitization.
