Indian cross country rally racer Ashish Raurane has been appointed as the brand athlete of premium tire maker Rais Moto. The contract is for three years. Ashish Rouran will also have Rais Moto in support at Dakar 2024 as he will represent the rider brand at all the motorsport events he will compete in during this period.
Ashish will collaborate with Rauran for the development of Race Moto’s flagship tire range. Commenting on the agreement, Rais Moto Founder & MD Yogesh Mahansaria said, “As a premium two-wheeler tire brand, our ambition is to deeply engage with the riding community and understand what they need to enhance their riding levels.”
He added that the experience of competing in some of the most challenging international and domestic races gives Ashish great insights. Company vice-president and business head Sumit Garg said the deal will pave the way for Rais to launch a competition-spec tyre.
“Delighted to collaborate with Race Moto. Participation is expected in Dakar 2024. I have already tried the TrialR range. It can be said to be comforting and hopeful even in challenging situations. Their commitment to creating high performance tires for the riding community is remarkable. I am excited to work with them to promote this. I want to share what I know for the development of the entire tire range of the Race Moto team,” said Ashish.
Ashish is one of the Indian rally riders with the best track record. He has raced the Dakar Rally, Africa Eco Race (AER) and the 2019 FIM Baja World Championship Series. Ashish is the fourth Indian to qualify for the Dakar Rally.
During the contract period, the company will also provide guidance on the development of the new generation flagship tire range and help the company develop competition spec off-road tyres. A few months ago, tire manufacturer Mahansaria Tires in collaboration with European company Mitas introduced a new brand of tires called Rais Moto in the country.
Mitas, a Czech Republic company with a long history of manufacturing tires for two-wheelers, is one of the most traditional brands in the world. Mitas has made a name for itself by providing tires for riders participating in the world’s toughest Dakar Rally. The Mahansaria Group has also entered into new partnerships to capitalize on this wealth of experience.
In December, Reiss Moto revealed the entire range of bikes and scooters tires currently running in the Indian market. Currently, the company has introduced 6 sub-brands namely Trail R, Tour R, Trace R and Troop R for the bike segment and Trip R and Twist R for the scooter segment in India.
