The EU’s Green Deal opens up attractive career opportunities with a focus on environmental, social and governance issues
Vienna (OTS) – With the Green Deal, the European Union has launched a comprehensive sustainability strategy that puts all areas of our life and work on a sustainable new footing. The clear focus on the environment, social issues and responsible corporate management (ESG for short) opens up attractive new career opportunities, especially on the job market.
ESG Manager:in is one of the most exciting future professions that the job market currently has to offer.
ESG & Sustainable Finance will be relevant in more than 2,000 Austrian companies from 2026. In addition to the financial sector, this includes all companies that are integrated into an international value chain, that are subject to extended non-financial reporting, whose business model is affected by climate and environmental protection measures, or that want to have an advantage in the competition for the best specialists. ESG programs will also increasingly be a requirement for companies to remain financeable and insurable.
During the event, the future field of activity and the professional requirement profile for ESG managers will be presented.
