Amazon has just presented a new connected speaker for Alexa: the Echo Pop. Available in four colors (white, black, lavender and duck green), it is compatible with Apple Music. The enclosure is currently on pre-order and will be delivered on the first of June.
Charged at €55, the device is part of Amazon’s entry-level speakers alongside theEcho Dot (€40). The manufacturer believes that it will be a perfect product for bedrooms, apartments or small spaces in the house. Its interest is obviously to be able to invoke Alexa, the assistant being able to activate timers, give the weather forecast or make phone calls.
A light bar at the top of the speaker lets you know when the mics are on and check if Alexa is listening. Two volume buttons are present, as well as a third offering to physically deactivate the microphones. The device is Zigbee and Matter compatible. Of the colored covers are available, as un support mural.
Amazon has also updated its Echo Show 5, a mid-range model with a screen at 110 €. Amazon promises that its speaker is 20% faster than the previous generation and explains that it has revised the speaker system. The manufacturer boasts doubled bass and even clearer sound, while the microphones have been revised to make it easier to understand voice commands.
A front camera will respond quickly to a phone call, and we can block it with a cache. Three colors are available: black, white and blue-grey. Also note the sale of a support adding a USB-C port for charging a phone, which will come in handy on a nightstand.
Finally, Amazon announced the launch in France of its Echo Car, a car box for accessing the assistant on the road. This will be practical for controlling your home automation accessories remotely, but also for using services like Apple Music or Spotify. The case has 5 microphones that can be cut using a dedicated button, as well as a fast phone charger. Count 70 € with a delivery scheduled for this week.
