New Delhi:In Karnataka, the dispute over the sharing of chief ministership continues. The high command wants to give the first two years to former chief minister Siddaramaiah, who has the support of more MLAs. However, the PCC, which played a major role in the victory of the Congress. Chairman D.K. Shivakumar was not ready to back down from his demand for chief ministership. With this, Chairman Mallikarjun Kharge decided to leave the matter to the mediation of Sonia Gandhi.

Kharge will hold talks with Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi once once more. Consultations are going on in New Delhi so that the chief minister can be announced in Bengaluru at least by Wednesday followingnoon. The aim is to take oath on Thursday or Friday.

The high command is trying to solve the problem by giving the first two years to Siddaramaiah and the next three years to Shivakumar. However, it is learned that Shivakumar has sought a written assurance from Sonia Gandhi in this regard.

Kharge held discussions with Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah for half an hour on Tuesday evening. Shivakumar at five o’clock and Siddaramaiah’s son Yathindra at six o’clock, MLAs Sameer Ahmed and Bhairathi Suresh, senior leader K.J. George came with them. The 75-year-old Siddaramaiah said that this is his last election and there is no further contest and hence he wants the post of chief minister. He also informed that he is ready to give the title to Shivakumar following two years.

Siddaramaiah’s advantage among the MLAs was given to Kharge Sivakumar. He praised Shivakumar’s work in Vijaya and put forward a two-year, three-year system. Shivakumar stipulated that there should be certainty in this regard and that only one Deputy Chief Minister should be appointed. With this, the crisis before the high command worsened. The only consolation is that Shivakumar said that he is not ready to backstab or resign.

PCC Along with the post, Sivakumar had proposed the post of Deputy Chief Minister, Home Department and important cabinet positions for those who are with him to stay away from the post of Chief Minister. Although the high command is ready to give this, Shivakumar has not responded positively.

On Tuesday morning, Rahul Gandhi reached Kharge’s residence and held a discussion for an hour. K.C. Venugopal and Karnataka in-charge Randeep Singh Surjewala were also present. Although Rahul and Venugopal are of the opinion that Siddaramaiah, who has the support of more MLAs, should be made the Chief Minister, Rahul said that Kharge, who knows the politics of Karnataka well, should take the decision on the Chief Minister. Surjewala did not give a clear decision in this regard.

Kharge will hold talks even following Sonia, who is in Shimla, reaches Delhi. The announcement will be made following seeing the central leadership Sivakumar and Siddaramaiah once more.

After coming to power, ED ridiculed the BJP as a 40 percent commission government. Siddaramaiah’s supporters told the central leadership that if Sivakumar, who has cases, is made the chief minister, it will be a weapon for the BJP to fight back in the Lok Sabha elections. However, MLAs supporting him also told high command observers that Sivakumar won a large majority by running a campaign of trying to trap opposition leaders using ED.
