Sofie Rasschaert started this week as the new director of Flam3D. She has a master’s degree in Product Design and gained experience in the 3D printing industry at both Materialize and Tenco DDM. From this work experience she brings with her a large network, both within and outside the AM industry.
Sofie Rasschaert succeeds Kris Binon, who recently exchanged Flam3D for Hybrid Software where he will set up the new AM division. The change of management is partly due to the new course that Flam3D has taken this year.
Broad experience in AM industry
The new figurehead of the AM ecosystem in the Benelux brings a wealth of experience. In addition to a master’s degree in Product Design, she obtained a postgraduate degree in Digital Marketing at Hogeschool PXL in Hasselt. In her professional career, Sofie Rasschaert has worked for more than four years at Materialise, first as a 3D print support engineer, then as a project manager. From here she switched to Dassault Systèmes and then started working at the Genker 3D printing service company Tenco DDM. Here she was account manager, then sales director and finally operational director until the end of 2020. Via Vanerum, producer of school furnishings, she has now started working at Flam3D.
On 24 and 25 May she will experience her public baptism of fire as director of Flam3D. Then she and the team will be at Advanced Engineering in Antwerp Expo.
