Egypt recently entered the “Guinness Book of Records” through the largest date farm in the world, while a government official revealed to “Sky News Arabia” that the size of the farm “will double 5 times”, which will bring great economic benefits to the country.
And on Sunday, the official court accredited by “Guinness”, Kenzi Al-Dafrawi, said that “Egypt broke the record for the largest date palm plantation in the world, on an area of 132 thousand square kilometers.”.
She added, “Egypt was granted a certificate to register the largest water withdrawal basin in the world, with a capacity of 245,000 cubic meters.”.
This announcement came on the sidelines of the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s inauguration of the wheat harvest season in East Al-Awainat in the New Valley, where Egypt was handed a certificate confirming the farm’s registration in the World Encyclopedia..

Ezz El-Din Jadallah, director of the Central Date Palm Research Laboratory at the Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture, spoke to Sky News Arabia regarding the farm that is located in the Toshka project in Aswan Governorate, south of Cairo, indicating that its aim is to “achieve large economic returns.”.
