“Top 5 Finalists for UNFP Trophy in Ligue 1 2022-2023 Season: Analysis and Predictions”

2023-05-16 17:15:09

Jonathan David, Seko Fofana, Loïs Openda, Kylian Mbappé and Lionel Messi are the five finalists for the UNFP Trophy for the best player of the season in Ligue 1. A list which is therefore without Alexis Sanchez and Alexandre Lacazette.

Indispensable to Olympique de Marseille and Olympique Lyonnais, Alexis Sanchez (14 goals, 3 assists) and Alexandre Lacazette (25 goals, 4 assists) are not among the five finalists for the UNFP Trophy for the best player in the 2022-2023 Ligue 1 season.

For this award, the five “named” announced on Tuesday are: Lille striker Jonathan David, Lensois Seko Fofana and Loïs Openda, as well as Parisian strikers Kylian Mbappé and Lionel Messi.

As every year, the votes (except for the prize for the most beautiful goal) have already been made. The players choose among their peers, the same goes for the coaches and the referees. The names announced are therefore those which received the most votes.
