Among them, “Medical Services” and “Development and Construction” are newly added professional areas, each with 13 and 11 types of work. “Medical services” professions include doctors, nurses, midwives, Chinese medicine practitioners, pharmacists, physiotherapists, dentists, optometrists, etc. “development and construction” professions include construction professionals, civil structures, building services and electrical and mechanical engineering professionals , building, quantity and land surveying specialists, landscape and town planning specialists, etc.

Some majors in the existing talent list will be added to new jobs, such as adding senior artificial intelligence experts and senior cloud infrastructure experts in the field of “innovative technology”.

The Labor and Welfare Bureau stated that the basic principles for formulating the talent list include focusing on high-quality talents that will help Hong Kong’s development; not being able to easily find the required talents in the local job market; not being able to provide relevant talents through local training within a reasonable time.
