Rendi-Wagner wrongly accuses the federal government of not having done anything to combat child poverty

Vienna (OTS) “SPÖ claims regarding child poverty do not stand up to a fact check. The Federal Government is taking on the issue of child poverty with the highest priority, and combating child poverty was a clear goal in all measures once morest inflation, in addition to providing relief. We know: Austrian family policy makes a key contribution to containing and reducing family and child poverty. This is partly due to the increase in the family bonus. Because child poverty is something that should not happen in this country. The policy of the federal government was and is successful, despite times of crisis, and someone has to copy that. Combating child poverty will continue to be the focus of the work of the federal government in the future – as a Christian-social party, that is our undisputed claim,” says the General Secretary of the People’s Party, Christian Stocker, referring to today’s press conference of the SPÖ on the subject of child poverty.

“The SPÖ is evading its parliamentary responsibility by announcing that it will block all constitutionally relevant federal government laws. So while the federal government is working for the Austrian population, the SPÖ is sinking into the total chaos of its member survey. The fact that social democracy harms itself with its behavior is irrelevant – but unfortunately it also harms the people in Austria and the country.”
