Today (15 May), the US Embassy in Thailand Published a message regarding the May 14, 2023 election in Thailand from Mr. Robert F. Godek, Ambassador of the United States. Thailand which states that
“Yesterday, tens of millions of people took part in elections across the Kingdom of Thailand. as an election observer Election officials, media, candidates and most importantly voters United States of America as Thailand’s long-standing friend and ally Looking forward to the official election results.”
Incidentally, Robert F. Godek was confirmed by the Senate as U.S. Ambassador. Thailand on August 4, 2022, serving as Ambassador for the third time following being Ambassador to Kenya from 2013-2019 and Ambassador to Tunisia from 2006-2009. US foreign affairs African affairs department and Senior Coordinator for Afghanistan Office of Population, Refugee and Migration Affairs
Ambassador Godek has also served as deputy commander and international affairs adviser at the National War College, and head of the deputy coordinator for counterterrorism. US State Department Deputy Assistant Secretary of State of the United States Department of Near East Affairs and Deputy Coordinator for Transition in Iraq
in addition to active positions in South Africa and Kenya. Ambassador Godek also served as Assistant Director of the Thailand and Myanmar Office at the Office of East Asia and Pacific Affairs. and previously served as Director of Southeast Asian Affairs at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative.
Mr. Godek graduated with a Master of Arts program. international relations from Yale University and Bachelor of Arts program Foreign affairs branch from the University of Virginia
