Gmunden has been playing in the national league since 2019 – if the officials of the club from the Salzkammergut have their way, this should change once more in the near future. This season, due to the strong competition in the west around Bad Schallerbach, it is said that investments were deliberately reserved – this might change in the summer. After the 3-0 win in the derby once morest Gschwandt, coach Christoph Brummayer’s team is the second-best spring team – they are aiming for the Upper Austrian league in the coming season. “We’re looking for players who can help our already strong team, and we’re particularly looking for a top scorer,” said Gmunden chairman Günter Laska.
The return of the relegation between the Upper Austrian League and the State League from next season also seems particularly interesting for Laska. “Two clubs would then have the opportunity to advance. Along with Bad Wimsbach, Andorf, Grieskirchen and Schärding, we want to be in the draw.”
Coaches come and go
Andorf also wants to be up front once more next season: With the commitment of ex-Schärding coach Bernhard Straif, the expectations of the Innviertel team are high for the coming season. Straif, on the other hand, is stepping on the brakes: “At the moment the euphoria in the club is too much for me. As it stands, we will lose two of our strikers and will need them here.”
Schalchen also has a new coach: Robert Pessentheiner returned to the Braunauers. Schlierbach, bottom of the table, is also due for a castling in the coaching zone. While the people of Kremstal are in the middle of a relegation battle, coach Falko Feichtl manages to get promoted: The 39-year-old will be the new coach of Upper Austrian league Micheldorf from the summer.
