“Investigative Committee launches multiple criminal cases on Vasilyevsky Island alluvium work”

The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on abuse of power once morest unidentified Smolny officials due to work being carried out on the “northern” alluvium of Vasilyevsky Island. This became known to Fontanka on the evening of April 14.

The case was initiated under article 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation – abuse of power and on behalf of the chairman of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin. Earlier, the head of the department appeared on the territory where work is underway on the “northern” alluvium. “Fontanka” told how the guards refused to let the general through, who returned an hour later – already with OMON officers.

On the same day, it became known that Bastrykin signed an order to initiate a criminal case under article 246 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation on violation of environmental protection rules in the course of work. The case was re-opened following the first similar one was canceled by the prosecutor.

In addition, today’s third criminal case on alluvium on Vasilevsky Island was initiated once morest unidentified persons under Article 203 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Excess of authority by a private detective or an employee of a private security organization with a certificate of a private security guard in the performance of their official duties).

According to the editors, we are talking regarding security officers who refused to let the head of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin to the site where the work was carried out in the morning.
