The Florida teams are in good shape this year… judge from it:
In hockeyMiami is also headlining, since they are the Florida Panthers who will challenge the first of the regular season, the Carolina Hurricanes, in the conference final. Matches will also begin on May 17.
This is only the second time the Panthers have advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals. The previous one goes back a while: 1996! The Broward team had beaten the Pittsburgh Penguins in seven games, but were swept in the Stanley Cup final by the Colorado Avalanche.
The finals of soccer are at the end of the year, but note a nice rise in l’Inter Miami who, following a slump, moved up to 6th place in the MLS (East) standings, with a match behind the three teams that preceded it… so long as it lasts!
