Overwatch 2: A controversy emerges in the community because of a new feature

Add new features in Overwatch 2 does not necessarily please everyone, quite the contrary.

While Blizzard announced a few days ago that maintaining the Overwatch League might soon not really a priority anymorethe players turned to another debate.
This time, it’s an addition from Blizzard in one of the game’s PVE events that’s getting a lot of talk, with the community very divided between the two points of view.

Add life bars to the interface, a much requested and very controversial option?

Available for a few more days, the event Starwatch : Relief galactic started on May 9 and will close on May 22.

This PVE event will allow you to earn some cosmetics and enjoy some maps in a new light, but also to use some features that are not available in regular matches.

The most popular example is probably the life bars of your allies on the interface.

This is not the first time that this option has been added, it has indeed been around since 2016. This addition is very popular and players have been asking for its permanent addition in the options of classic game modes for years.

An integration which, for many, would be really beneficial in the parts. An opinion which, however, is not not shared by everyone, very far from it.
Indeed, the comments show some division over such an addition.

For some players, this addition is necessary, and the number of requests each time these health bars are present in PVE is a sure proof of the desire of the players to take advantage of them all the time.
On the other hand, many other players find that adding these bars would make the game too easy for healers, for example.

The “skill reduction” necessary during a game seems to bother a part of the players who do not want casualiser the game.
A debate that has been going on for years and the first introduction of these bars in the beginnings of PVE events and which is apparently not ready to end.

Either way, don’t panic regarding it! After years of receiving the same request from players, Blizzard has never added the option and the company seems rather motivated to continue to hide.
