Ubisoft announced it with great fanfare: Assassin’s Creed Mirage should allow the franchise to reconnect with its origins. After a Assassin’s Creed Valhalla which made it possible to regain the confidence of the players despite some bugs at launch, Ubisoft wants to make Mirage a strong episode.
It must be said that the French publisher does not really have a choice: in full restructuring, the company has decided to limit its investments and to bet only on its strongest franchises. This is how half a dozen current projects have been purely canceled, the objective being to refocus efforts on Assassin’s Creed in the hope that this is enough to raise the bar.
A release postponed to October?
We know thatAssassin’s Creed Mirage is due out this year and according to Ubisoft internal sources believed to be reliable, following two postponements, the release was scheduled for this summer. Finally, the development would not go as planned, and the teams would have accumulated delays, implying a change of agenda. From now on, Mirage would no longer be expected before next October.
Remember that the title will immerse us in the city of Baghdad in the year 861 and will propose to embody Basim Ibn Ishaq that we already know from Valhalla. The story will then cover his evolution, from the simple thief of the streets of the city to the integration of the brotherhood of Assassins. On the menu you title: parkour, exploration, assassinations, infiltration…
These postponements might also be good: the developers might have more time to refine the title and offer a flawless experience…
