Edith Hermida spoke at length with Tatiana Schapiro for Infobae and during the interview she recalled her childhood, adolescence, talked regarding her role as a mother, her emerging courtship and brought up some surprising memories.
About the beginning of her relationship with Mariano Tabares, the presenter and panelist said that it was “difficult”. “That first moment was like a heavy medium, the moment of the exhibition. Mariano is a producer, he works in the media, but he was not used to exposure. It was one thing to be behind the camera and another to leave the channel and a camera was waiting for him, ”she explained.
“I faced him. This is also a change. I am part of a time when women were confronted. You had to turn your eyes, something like that, and you had to wait for them to face you. This was my first time facing… I had to convince myself. I mean, it wasn’t easy. It was by chat. The message is very cute. We talked every morning and every night for work. I realized that a Saturday came when I didn’t have to talk to him and I said: ‘What do I do now?’ It was not worth writing to him on a Saturday, because he had no program. Or on Sunday. Then I realized that something was wrong with me. And following a while I told him that it wasn’t just work that was happening to me: ‘Do what you want with this,’ I told him. And he was kind of stunned. In the end, yes, things happened to him too, then it happened, ”he explained, and they have been in a relationship for four months now.
The day she was almost a prostitute
“I was always very unconscious. Another friend of mine, who is my daughter’s godmother, tells me: ‘Do you remember such and such a thing?’ Yes, I remember, and the day I almost prostituted myself I would tell you (laughs). We were almost prostitutes. I see that we titled this note with: ‘The day we were almost prostitutes’”, she recounted with a laugh and explained: “I had a friend of a friend, I don’t really know what she did, but she was paid to go have a drink at a place. And she had all the clothes, she had money. We didn’t have a mango, did you see? She then tells us: ‘Let’s go for a drink one day in a place.’ They were going to pay us 10,000 pesos each. We all said, ‘Let’s go.’”
“A remise came to look for us. I fell asleep in the car, I don’t even know where we went. ‘We arrived’, they tell me. So my friend goes up and down with the money. ‘No, in the end we don’t have to go for a drink because the guys who were supposed to come didn’t show up,’ she tells us. ‘Ah well, they give us the money and we return in the same remise, great.’ Later I began to think, over time, that it seems to me that it was like a brothel that we went to (laughs). My friend is going to be very happy that I tell this. But there I was unconscious. I did not understand anything. My mom didn’t find out either, ”she recalled.
