“Eco-energy credits are by far the fastest growing credit category in Belgium”, comments Bart Vervenne, president of the UPC. “We expect the first quarter trend to continue throughout the year, making 2023 a banner year for energy credits.” Already in 2022, the number of energy-efficient loans had jumped compared to 2021, from 29,000 loans to 61,000.
Other consumer loans also gained popularity in the first quarter of the year, further indicates the UPC.
