In a story like the one we see in the movies, a Saudi young man found his Egyptian mother following a 32-year separation, following family disputes between his parents that caused their separation.
The Saudi embassy in Cairo was able to reunite the young Turki Khaled Sunaid al-Sunaid, following finding his mother, who was deprived of her when he was four years old.
The story began when his mother traveled to Cairo to visit her family, but his father separated from her there, and he returned to the kingdom with the little boy without his mother.
Later, his mother told him that her son had died, while the four-year-old was living with his grandmother, his father’s mother. He remained in the care of his grandmother until she died when he was 16 years old. Then he moved to live with one of his elderly female relatives, until he got married at the age of 28.
But throughout that period, he was searching for his mother through the Egyptian embassy in Riyadh, to no avail.
Al-Sunaid explained that he then traveled to Egypt to search for his mother, and went to the Saudi embassy in Cairo and found all the papers in his parents’ file.
When the concerned Egyptian authorities were contacted, who searched more than once for the missing mother, until they found her. At that time, the Saudi embassy contacted her and told her regarding her son.
The young man expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Saudi Embassy in Cairo, led by Ambassador Osama Naqli, appreciating the interest of the Head of Welfare Affairs, Muhammad al-Buraiki, and the Deputy Head of the Saudis, Muhammad al-Subaie, at the embassy, and the follow-up of the Head of Legal Affairs, Counselor Magdi Mahfouz, and all the embassy staff, as well as the concerned authorities in Egypt that contributed to his meeting with his mother. After a separation of 32 years!
