A new study has found the cause of a rare medical condition that affects male men following vaccination with the emerging coronavirus vaccine, and it has been the subject of multiple studies.
network quotesFox NewsVarious studies have shown that adolescent and young males develop myocarditis following receiving the Covid vaccine, without knowing the cause.
Scientists from Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, USA, conducted tests on a group of 23 patients with vaccine-related myocarditis, and concluded that the condition was not caused by the antibodies produced by the vaccine, but by the body’s natural immune response to the vaccine.
The ages of the 23 patients in the study ranged from 13 to 21 years, with an average age of 16. Males made up 87% of the group.
All patients were “generally healthy” before receiving the vaccine, but most of them started to develop myocarditis within four days following receiving the vaccine.
The researchers concluded that the vaccine triggered an exaggerated immune response that unintentionally affected the heart.
In the study, participants experienced several symptoms commonly associated with myocarditis, including chest pain, heart palpitations, shortness of breath, fever, fatigue, headache, nausea, muscle aches, and excessive sweating.
Despite this, researchers say, most cases of vaccine-related myocarditis resolve quickly with treatment, and common treatments include non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (ibuprofen) and blood pressure medications.
And the researchers reduce the situation and point out that post-vaccine myocarditis is a very rare complication of the vaccine and affects only one person in 50,000 people.
