“Canada vs Latvia: Samuel Montembeault shines in opening win at World Hockey Championship”

Samuel Montembeault and the Canadian team started their World Hockey Championship with a 6-0 victory over Latvia.

The Montreal Canadiens goaltender saved 23 pucks in front of his net to deprive Latvia of a goal during the confrontation.

Canada and Finland have met in the last three finals of this tournament. The Finns triumphed in 2019 and 2022 while the representatives of the maple leaf took top honors in 2021.

The Men’s World Cup has been canceled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Canadians will be back in action on Sunday once morest Slovenia. The game will be presented Sunday at 5 a.m. with RDS and RDS.ca.
