5G in Brazil: see which cities have the highest mobile internet speed in the country

5G is present in more and more cities in Brazil, reaching 6 more neighborhoods in Belém this week. Now a study carried out by OpenSignal shows which capitals in the country have the best and worst speeds in the new generation of mobile internet.

Cities with the highest speeds on 5G



The highest download speeds with 5G in Brazil were registered in the following capitals:

  • Porto Alegre (RS)
  • Teresina (PI)
  • Curitiba (PR)
  • Florianopolis (SC)

In these capitals, speeds ranged from 391.4 to 408.9 Mbps. In fifth place was Brasília with an average download speed of 388.4 Mbps.

Speaking of upload Belo Horizonte (MG) is the national leader in 5G, recording an average of 39.1 Mbps in file uploads. In second place are Porto Alegre (RS), São Paulo (SP) and Vitória (ES), which are tied with an average of 3.6 to 6.2 Mbps lower than the capital of Minas Gerais.

Cities with the slowest 5G



The city with the worst 5G performance in Brazil is Macapá, in the state of Amapá, where the network reached an average of 257.8 Mbps, just behind Manaus, which registered a speed only 20 Mbps faster.

Cities with the best 5G gaming experience



Playing online is one of the most effective ways to test 5G stability, latency and speed. In this way, OpenSignal evaluated the performance of games via 5G online in the 27 capitals, of which the following stood out:

  • São Paulo;
  • Belo Horizonte;
  • Rio de Janeiro;
  • Curitiba.

Overall, all 4 cities scored 88.1 out of 100 ranking points rating the experience as excellent. Players interviewed found 5G performance satisfactory, offering quick responses to commands with full control in matches.
