The Maly Drama Theater – Theater of Europe on May 12 announced the cancellation of performances through May 16 inclusive.

“The date of the court session has not been determined,” reads a message posted on MDT social networks.

“Tickets are subject to return at the place of their purchase, the money will be returned in full,” according to the MDT. — If you purchased tickets on the official website of the theatre, no additional steps are required for a refund. The theater box office is open daily from 12:00 to 19:00.

Recall that the activities of the theater were temporarily suspended by Rospotrebnadzor on the basis of a protocol dated May 5.

On May 11, the Kuibyshev District Court returned to Rospotrebnadzor the case file on an administrative offense once morest the Theater of Europe. The case materials did not find evidence of exactly how the identified violations (including such as the lack of marking on the inventory or the lack of marks on typhoid vaccinations made by cleaners) pose a threat to life and health.

The joint press service of the courts of St. Petersburg explained to Fontanka that “the temporary ban on activities that was imposed on MDT, according to the law, cannot exceed 7 days.” And there are no provisions in the Code of Administrative Offenses on the possibility of its extension. This means that if the necessary additions are not made to the materials and the court does not consider them within the prescribed period, the theater will be able to open its doors.

However, the Fontanka Theater said that they are currently waiting for actions from the checking structures – those who, in fact, sealed them. “So far, no one has come and let the performances play,” the press service commented on the decision. – There has not yet been a trial, but in our ruling it is written: “before the trial.” So we continue to incur losses.”

At the same time, the Fontanka correspondent, having visited the MDT, found that the paper sheet that sealed the theater door from the outside, with a notice of the suspension of the theater’s activities, was no longer there. The theater staff, who stood at the entrance, admitted that the leaf disappeared during the holidays. Who took it away is unknown. “Probably passers-by,” they shrugged their shoulders there.

The visit of Rospotrebnadzor to the theater on the sidelines was associated with a difficult situation around the leading actor Danila Kozlovsky. Public figure Vitaly Borodin demanded that his words be checked for discrediting the Russian Armed Forces. Kozlovsky filed a lawsuit once morest him for the protection of honor, dignity and business reputation, but the court did not accept it.
