On Thursday, the Qatari capital, Doha, hosted the draw for the final qualifiers for the 2023 AFC Asian Cup, which will be held in Qatar next year.
China was supposed to host this tournament, but it apologized last year because it was unable to prepare for the event, following the outbreak of the Corona epidemic in the country, starting in late 2019.
The AFC later announced that the tournament would be held in Qatar from January 12 to February 10, 2024.
24 international teams are participating in the tournament, divided into six groups.
The results of the lottery were as follows:
Group A: Qatar, China, Tajikistan and Lebanon.
The second group: Australia, Uzbekistan, Syria and India.
The third group: Iran, the UAE, Hong Kong and Palestine.
Group D: Japan, Indonesia, Iraq and Vietnam.
Group E: South Korea, Malaysia, Jordan and Bahrain.
Group Six: Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Kyrgyzstan and Oman.
The first of each group and its runner-up will qualify for the next round, in addition to the 4 teams that achieved the best results among the third-placed teams.
And 10 Arab teams succeeded in qualifying for the final qualifiers for the 2023 Asian Cup.
The host Qatar team, which heads Group A, will seek to preserve the title following winning it for the first time in 2019 in the UAE.

Iraq also won the title in 2007 in Indonesia, by defeating Saudi Arabia in the final match.
The date of the competition, which is held every four years, has been postponed more than once for several reasons, including the outbreak of the Corona pandemic.
