A reason to move this weekend? The night of the Museums in Paris! It will be held this year on Saturday, May 13, and admission is free. The opportunity to discover the Matisse and Basquiat exhibitions – or else, Marie Antoinette’s chignon and Ken Domon’s photos… Here is our non-exhaustive selection of exhibitions for this 100% weekend of the 19th edition of La Nuit Des Musées!

1/ House of Japanese Culture in Paris
For the first time in France, the works of Japanese photographer Ken Domon are exhibited. Unknown in France, but superstar in his country, a hundred of his suspended moments – fiery gazes like post-war landscapes, tranquil mangroves or Buddhist sculptures – are exhibited at the Maison de la culture du Japon. A journey through fifty years of historical portraiture (1920-1970)…
101 bis Quai Jacques Chirac, 75015 Paris, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

2/ The Concierge
You are convinced: the capital of world gastronomy is Paris! Logic. Except that your friends who return from their quiet long weekend in Italy do not agree. Pizza is good, but what next? With this exhibition Paris, capital of gastronomy, from the Middle Ages to the present day » learn what was at the table of Charles V, discover the bowels of the belly of Paris, and its legendary chefs, like Antonin Carême, the master of modern pastry – and catch all the anecdotes to defend yourself: yes , yes, it is in Paris that we eat the best bread!
2 boulevard du Palais, 75001 Paris, from 9.30 a.m. to 8 p.m.

3/ The French Cinematheque
Mata Hari, In the Service of France, Office of legends, OSS 117… The “Top Secret” exhibition at the cinematheque explores the intimate relationships that link the seventh art to espionage. It is also an overview of the geopolitics of the 20th century through the shifting plots of our favorite fictions. An opportunity not to be sulked to discover or rediscover some of the classics of cinema, but also other more confidential films… And quite strange!
51 Rue de Bercy, 75012 Paris, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

4/ Carnavalet Museum
Because pataphysics is an essential discipline, the “Paris is pataphysics” exhibition will be a key step in your walk. You will no longer see the streets of the capital in the same way. Between real and imaginary, inevitably, this dose of fantasy was designed by the regent himself of the college of pataphysics, Philippe Starck, accompanied by the Maciej Fiszer workshop for the scenography.
23 Rue de Sévigné, 75003 Paris, from 10 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.

5/ Yves Saint Laurent Museum
It’s the last weekend to see the exhibition “Gold, les ors d’Yves Saint Laurent”, which celebrates the five years of the YSL museum. Dresses, laces, jewels and the lust of gold: it’s clear, just following, the gray sky will no longer have any effect on you. Sunrise guarantees! And it’s free!
5 Av. Marceau, 75116 Paris, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

6/ Musée Cognacq-Jay
Immersion experience in the 18th century through the performance of choreographer Anne Perbal! After having made you a bun Marie-Antoinette style (the kind you will never copy before going to work), dance to the sound of a soprano who will reproduce the songs composed by the Queen in person!
8 Rue Elzévir, 75003 Paris, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

7/ Museum of Luxembourg
A concert with the works of Maurice Ravel, Claude Debussy and Camille Saint Saëns to accompany the paintings of Monet, Pissarro, Renoir… In painting as in music, Impressionism makes you dream!
19 rue de Vaugirard, 75006 Paris, at 8:30 p.m.
