This Wednesday, the Belgian, German and Dutch police together launched a call for testimonies in order to identify the bodies of 22 women and young women. Set up in collaboration with the International Criminal Police Organization, Interpol, the operation is called “Identify Me” and is supported by some famous women from the participating countries such as, for example, Axelle Red or Veerle Baetens. To support them in their mission, its three instigators have brought together the 22 wanted notices on a single website accessible to all: www.interpol.int/IM.
Among them, a file relates to a lady whose partially calcined body was found in Liège, in the park of Cointe. A file that we presented yesterday.
Another file relates to a young woman found dead fifteen years ago in Visé. Indeed, on Sunday May 31, 2009, the body of a young woman was found in the Albert Canal, near the Dutch border. According to the first findings, the unfortunate had received several stab wounds. His body was then thrown into the water, not without having been weighted down by two “Alex” dumbbells.
2D and 3D facial reconstructions have been made of the young woman, showing what she might have looked like during her lifetime. It is believed that she was between 14 and 24 years old and was 1.62 meters tall. She was athletic, had shoulder-length blond or light brown hair, a fair complexion, good teeth and pierced ears.
She had artificial fingernails. On both ring fingers, the artificial nails were decorated with a floral pattern. She had a surgical scar on her lower abdomen and right wrist. The wrist scar is regarding 10 cm long. The investigation revealed that the young woman had been living for several years in the Benelux and that she had spent her childhood in Eastern Europe.
