Surreal scene in Marcinelle (Charleroi) in the middle of the followingnoon this Thursday. Motorists were able to see a police car, sirens on, blocking the left lane of the motorway on the A503: the officers were actually escorting two people who had taken the motorway recklessly… on a moped!
Riding their old Honda Camino, the two people were on a section fortunately limited to 70 km / h because of the interchange with the E420 / R9 (small belt of Charleroi) close, and were not injured.
The local Charleroi police stopped on the left lane and then escorted them to the next exit at Marcinelle/Porte de Philippeville on the R9, acting as a buffer vehicle to avoid any additional risk.
