Somerset. A shocking report has come out that last year nearly 7,000 people died due to deficiencies in the treatment given to people with diabetes in Britain. The figures in this regard were released by the Diabetes UK charity. It is possible to avoid amputations and heart attacks by providing regular check-ups to diabetics without stopping, but in the absence of this, deaths have increased more than usual.

The charity also reveals that many sufferers are left without help in the challenging situation of being diagnosed with diabetes. NHS England has responded that increasing priority is being given to returning people with diabetes to the pre-Covid situation, i.e. routine care. NHS England says £36 million has been allocated to local areas to bring back diabetes services.
More than five million people in the UK currently suffer from diabetes. But new figures from Diabetes UK reveal that in 2021-22, around 1.9 million people will miss out on regular crucial diabetes tests. The major problem remains that the barriers to such testing during Covid continue post-Covid, preventing many people from accessing appropriate diabetes care.
Due to this, the death of people suffering from diabetes increased at an extraordinary rate last year. For example, between January and March this year alone, there were 1461 additional deaths of diabetic patients. The death toll is three times higher than at the same time last year. Therefore, Diabetes UK calls for urgent measures to be taken to eliminate the dangerous situation.
