The Hollywood star has won an Oscar twice
Hollywood star Robert De Niro, 79, announced that he has become a father for the seventh time.
De Niro first announced the news in an interview with ET Canadian, which focused on his upcoming film, About My Father.
And when he was asked regarding being the father of six children, the Oscar winner replied: “Seven, in fact, I recently had a child.”
De Niro, who has six other children from previous relationships with three women, did not reveal the identity of the seventh child’s mother.
The veteran Hollywood star won two Academy Awards for his roles in “The Godfather Part II” and “Raging Bull”.
De Niro will co-star Sebastian Maniscalco in a new movie that revolves around a man who takes his father – who sometimes puts him in embarrassing situations – on a vacation with his fiancée and her wealthy, eccentric family.
When asked regarding his own parenting experience, De Niro said, “I don’t think I’ve ever been a great father. I’m okay with that. My kids sometimes disagree with me, but they’re respectful.”
He added, “My daughter is 11 years old, and she annoys me sometimes when we get into arguments from time to time, but I adore her.”
He continued: “With my youngest child, there will be more experiences in the future. You know – that’s how it goes.”
The Hollywood star, who has been married twice and is also a grandfather, noted that he sometimes has to be “tough regarding things” with his children, but admitted he would rather not be.
“I mean, there’s no getting away from dealing with children,” he said. “I don’t like having to enforce the law and things like that. But sometimes you don’t have a choice.”
He added, “I think any mother or father would have the same opinion. We always want the children to do the right thing and think well of them, but sometimes you can’t.”
Reports linked Robert De Niro and Tiffany Chen, a martial arts instructor, according to the American “People” magazine, amid allegations that they had a relationship, but neither of them announced anything regarding that relationship.
Among the six children of the Hollywood star are two from actress and singer Diana Abbott – with whom the Hollywood star had a relationship earlier – and they are the son and daughter of the American actress from a previous relationship, De Niro announced that he had adopted them earlier.
He also has twins with actress Tokie Smith, and a son and daughter with social activist and philanthropist Grace Hightower.
