The American billionaire and head of the “Twitter” website announced that it will soon be possible to make voice and video calls through the platform.

Through this statement, Musk aims to make the Twitter application “multipurpose”, as he put it. And he said on Twitter, “Voice and video chats will be added to your account soon to any user of this platform, which will allow you to talk to people anywhere in the world without giving them your phone number.” Thus, Twitter will offer a tool similar to the one currently available on Instagram and Facebook in particular.

The billionaire, who bought the platform for $44 billion at the end of October, plans to make it possible to encrypt private messages on Wednesday. “This system will quickly become more complex,” he wrote.

Since taking over Twitter, Elon Musk has made a series of changes, adding new features to the service, sometimes in a chaotic fashion. In November, he announced his intention to turn Twitter into a “multi-purpose” application that allows, among other things, encrypted messages, long tweets, and payment methods.

And US media recently said that Twitter is suffering severely with the “Twitter Blue” service, which it is also known for as the “blue mark of authentication.”

According to the “Mashpal” report, since last November, “Twitter leader” Elon Musk was only able to convert 640,000 users to Twitter Blue subscribers as of the end of April.
