The producer of natural stone kitchen worktops Strasser has invested 25 million euros in the past year and a half at the St. Martin im Mühlkreis site. The official opening ceremony for the new production hall took place at the weekend. “On Sunday, the company was open to anyone interested to visit, and we were happy to welcome a total of 6,000 visitors,” says Strasser-Steine Managing Director Johannes Artmayr.
Regional leader
“Companies like Strasser Steine are the backbone of Upper Austria’s economy. It is the regional leading companies that secure jobs and thus prosperity for the people in their area. As a result, Upper Austria was able to become one of the 50 most competitive regions in Europe for the first time, despite difficult international conditions. The investment into a new production hall is a clear commitment and expression of trust in Upper Austria as a business location,” said Governor Thomas Stelzer in his speech. At the open day, the guests had the opportunity to visit the new, around 6,500 square meter production area in which Strasser produces natural stone worktops for kitchens using the latest technology and a high degree of automation.
It was completed just a few weeks ago, just in time to be able to cope with the constantly increasing demand, as Johannes Artmayr explains. The focus is on the latest product: Alpinova – a kitchen worktop made from production leftovers and old natural stone kitchen worktops.
As reported, this “re-stoning process” is a process that is unique in the world. Strasser was the first company to develop a sustainable recycling process for the production of kitchen worktops. After the blessing of the new production hall by Prelate Johannes Holzinger, the obligatory beer tapping took place.
