Feeding your pet is getting more and more expensive

But if there is one point on which all pet owners agree, it is that feeding your companion is more and more expensive. The Tiendeo Observatory has thus noted an average increase of 20% in the price of kibbles for animals and 25% for cat litter compared to last year. Faced with this inflation, owners rely on promotions to take care of their companion.

This is what the Tiendeo study shows: searches for promotions on pet products have increased by +135% compared to last year. Among the most searched products in the pet department, cat litter is in the lead with 47% of searches, followed by food products (32%) and accessories (12%).

The French are looking for more articles for cats than for dogs according to the Observatory of Tiendeo

And yet, despite rising prices, more cat owners pamper their pets than dog owners. Searches for products for cats thus represent 77% of searches for products for animals, once morest only 17% for dogs.

Finally, while Tiendeo’s study focuses on the preferences of French consumers, it also reveals that Italians and Portuguese are looking for more products for their cats, while the Spaniards are doing the same for their dogs.
