Tomorrow the 18th Congress of the Argentine Society for Linguistic Studies will begin in Roca. It will be held from May 10 to 13 and there will be different international specialists who will present different topics.
A few days ago, Doctor Gonzalo Espinosa, who is the research secretary of the Faculty of Languages of the UNCO, explained to RÍO NEGRO that the themes are diverse. «To mention a few, I can name issues related to discourse analysis, also those that have to do with theoretical linguistics, studies that have to do with language comprehension and production»said Espinosa, who is in charge of coordinating the event together with Dr. María Mare.
In this sense, there will be more than 300 exhibitors of international professionals. From the Faculty of Languages they informed that the activity will have the presence of prestigious specialists in different disciplines of linguistics. Among them will be “Dr. Juan Carlos Moreno Cabrera from the Autonomous University of Madrid, Dr. Virginia Bertolotti from the University of the Republic, Dr. Andrey Nikulin from the University of Brasilia and Dr. Ronice Müller De Quadros from the Federal University of Santa Catarina,” they explained.

Congress Activities
There will be virtual and face-to-face conferences:
– Plenary lectures by special guests.
– Panels on specific topics, which will be proposed by specialists.
– Colloquia of researchers on specific topics.
–Presentations in general commissions, which will be organized in accordance with the articulating axes that are consigned in this call.
It is extremely enriching for both teachers and students because it is a kind of exchange of knowledge.

The congress has the endorsements of the Faculty of Languages, the Superior Council of the UNCo, the Faculty of Humanities and the Atlantic Zone Regional University Center. Besides It was declared of interest by the Municipality of Roca, by the Provincial Council of Education of Río Negro and has the recognition of automatic scoring by the Provincial Council of Education of Neuquén.
