“Liège Pedestrian Crossing Controversy: The Story of the Clark and the White Line”

We mentioned it last week and our publication caused a huge reaction on social networks: during the last week of April, a new pedestrian crossing was built in rue Louvrex in Liège, a few steps from the HEC buildings. The problem is that when painting it, a clarck was right there. Obviously, the workers in charge of this work have not found a way to move it. Maybe they just didn’t know who it belonged to…

But that did not stop the workers. Rather than waiting for it to be moved, the pedestrian crossing was simply painted… by passing over one of the forks of the clarck which, beforehand, had been protected with adhesive tape!

The clarck in question still stayed there for a good week, without moving an inch. It was only last Friday that it was found that it had finally been moved. The place that might not be painted is nevertheless still clearly visible, as you can see!

This Tuesday, the white line had indeed not yet been “completed”. Will it be one day? Perhaps we will leave it as such in memory of this very “Liège” story…
