A firefighter from the United States visits and with donations in San Martín de los Andes

Walter Cook, a Firefighter from Ohio, United States, arrives in San Martín de los Andes in the context of his campaign donations for barracks in Patagonia. It will stay until May 20 where he will visit different towns in the south.

cook is Firefighter instructor, Vehicle Rescue instructor and Vehicle Operator instructor Emergency Department, among other specialties, reported FM del Lago.

Firefighter has an extensive curriculum and visits San Martin de los Andes, your first stop in the tour that will take place in the south until May 20.

local fire brigade began talks a year ago with the Bomberotecnia Foundation of the American firefighter, to organize a campaign to donate fire trucks and equipment for headquarters in Patagonia.

Since 2008, the firefighter has been carrying out different campaigns of this type and they have already been carried out donations in different countries of Central America and Africa.

Cook will be touring different fire stations of Rio Negro, Chubut and Neuquén with the aim of getting to know the authorities, facilities and needs.

It has already arrived at the port of Zárate the first donated pumper from the United States with a capacity of 2,000 liters of water and 29,145 kilometers of use.

It will become part of the vehicle park of the Volunteer Firefighters Association of San Martin de los Andes.

In addition to this incorporation, it is in the process of importing a container with self-contained breathing apparatus, personal protective equipment and helmets among other elements. They will be distributed among the barracks visited by Cook.
