Malappuram: The court remanded Nassar, the owner of the boat that caused the accident in Tanur. He was remanded by the Parappanangady Magistrate Court. Nassar was shifted to Tirur Sub Jail. Locals protested once morest the accused in front of the court.
The police had earlier charged Nassar with murder. The district police chief said that more than two people are regarding to be arrested in the case and the investigation has been intensified. Boat owner Nasser was taken into police custody yesterday in Kozhikode. He was arrested in Kozhikode following a search was conducted for the suspect who went on the run following the accident. Serious sections including IPC 302 which includes the crime of murder have been charged once morest the arrested accused. SP said that more accused will be arrested soon.
Police are continuing to search for the crew who were on the boat at the time of the accident. The police concluded that he is absconding.
