CIUDAD VALLES.- The director of Municipal Health Services, Khaled Cárdenas Yebra said that the obligations of the municipal government for both unionized and trust workers is to provide medical care and medicines, but no law obliges him or the municipal government to give patent medicine.
He denied that care is being denied to the two types of City Hall workers, but that some patients argue that they do not want to be given generic medicines, but those of recognized brands.
He argued that the price differences between one and the other are abysmal and that they do not deny giving them the medicine, only that some people who suffer from chronic or psychiatric illnesses demand the brand and the City Council instructs them to deliver the others.
