AI (Artificial Intelligence) evolved from an “esoteric research topic” six decades ago to wide-scale use by both companies, academics and computer science labs. The definition is part of the report “Capitalizing on the promise of artificial intelligence Perspectives on AI adoption from around the world”, by Deloitte, which reveals data and perspectives on the adoption of AI at a global level.
According to the study, more than eight out of ten leaders of organizations using AI see innovation as “very” or “critically” important to the success of their business over the next two years. Incidentally, adoption and spending on new technologies are on the rise all over the world. According to the report, 37% of organizations have already deployed AI – a 270% increase from four years ago.
Despite the positive aspects, cyber risk concerns companies that use new technologies. According to the Deloitte survey, 23% of respondents ranked “cybersecurity vulnerabilities” as their top concern regarding AI.
However, according to Deyvid Sousa, engineer, executive and cybersecurity specialist, AI can be used precisely to detect and respond to cybersecurity threats in real time: “Machine learning algorithms can quickly identify potential threats and alert security teams, allowing that they respond quickly and mitigate the damage.”
In addition, according to the expert, there are several recent advances related to AI that may be useful for the Brazilian corporate environment. He cites the most notable progress on the following topics:
Increased use of NLP and sentiment analysis for service and support
Sousa points out that many businesses are using AI-powered chatbots and virtual assistants to provide customer service and support.
“These systems use NLP (Natural Language Processing) to understand customer queries and sentiment analysis to detect the consumer’s mood and respond accordingly,” he explains.
Increased adoption of AI for predictive analytics
The engineer adds that with the increasing volume of data generated by companies, AI-powered predictive analytics tools are becoming more and more popular.
“These tools use machine learning algorithms to analyze data and identify patterns and trends that can help companies make more informed decisions”, clarifies Sousa.
Improved supply chain management through AI-powered logistics
According to the cybersecurity expert, AI is also being used to optimize logistics and supply chain management, analyzing data on stock levels, shipping times and demand patterns.
“This helps companies make informed decisions regarding when and how to replenish inventory, reducing waste and improving efficiency,” he says.
Greater automation of routine tasks
AI-powered automation is an alternative to simplify routine tasks such as data entry, document processing and scheduling, informs Sousa. “This frees up employees to focus on more complex tasks, improving productivity and job satisfaction.”
Sousa points out that, in general, AI is increasingly being used by companies to improve efficiency, reduce costs and enhance the customer experience. “As AI technology continues to evolve, we can expect to see even more innovations and applications in the corporate world.”
