“ICT Summit 2023: 5G Deployment Roadmap in Tunisia and Global Digital Transformation”

Huawei Tunisia organized on Monday the ICT Summit 2023 in Tunisia (ICT Summit 2023) in collaboration with the Tunisian Ministry of Communication Technologies.

At the opening of the summit, the Tunisian Minister of Communication Technologies, Nizar Ben Naji, announced that the roadmap for the deployment of the 5th generation of mobile networks (5G) in Tunisia “is now being prepared ( …) it will be officially announced in the coming weeks and it (roadmap) will set the terms and dates for the implementation of this technology, the launch of which in Tunisia is planned for 2024”.

“Apart from the pilot experiments, carried out in this direction with the telecommunications operators, the deployment of this technology in Tunisia will be done gradually and will be according to the emergencies, priorities and needs of the different types of users”, said Mr. Ben Naji speaking to journalists.

To succeed in this transition, he insisted, “it will be necessary to maintain a continuous dialogue between all the stakeholders, namely the government, the telecom operators, the regulators, in addition to the operators of the infrastructure, the equipment manufacturers in the field telecommunications and suppliers”.

Speaking at the opening of the ICT2023 summit, the Chinese ambassador to Tunisia, Li Wan, insisted on the phenomenon of global digital transformation, the pace of which is only increasing in the world.

the Chinese ambassador assured that this transformation on a global scale will only remarkably change the modes of production while establishing itself as a new engine of development, growth and future cooperation.

Mr. Wan took the opportunity to reiterate China’s determination to promote and strengthen technological exchanges, know-how and expertise with its partners, including Tunisia.
