RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s public budget for this year earned 280.9 billion riyals in the first three months. The budget performance report was released by the finance ministry. Revenue was 280.9 billion and expenditure was 283.9 billion, while the deficit was regarding 2.9 billion riyals.
In the first quarter, oil revenue was 178.6 billion and non-oil revenue was 102 billion, the ministry stated in the report. Saudi budget figures revealed that non-oil revenues increased by nine percent on an annual basis. The deficit in the first quarter of this year was 2.91 billion riyals compared to a surplus of 57.5 billion riyals in the same period last year. In the first quarter of 2023, capital expenditure increased by 75 percent year-on-year, according to the report.
