In Netherlands There is shock following a nurse confessed to killing at least 20 patients with serious health conditions covid-19.

The health professional would have told his co-workers that he ended the lives of patients to free them from suffering.

According to the local media AD, The nurse was identified as Theodoor V. and he worked since October 2019 at the Wilhelmina Hospital, where he would have decided on the lives of 20 people who were considered terminally ill due to covid-19 between March 2020 and May 2022.

After learning regarding the situation, the hospital directives issued a statement to report the facts and point out that the nurse was fired.

The authorities captured the confessed murderer

According to the aforementioned media, the authorities captured the nurse regarding two weeks ago and announced that he will remain in jail for another month while the investigations progress.

“The nurse was detained on suspicion of involvement in the deaths of patients at the WZA during the coronavirus pandemic,” the hospital institution said.

For his part, Hans Mulder, who is a hospital administration official, said that the nurse was removed from his position as soon as they learned of the alleged facts. “We immediately took the report seriously and took the necessary measures (…) We look following the well-being of our employees and the surviving patients or family members involved. In the next period, we will mainly focus, together with the Police, on collecting data,” Mulder told the Daily Mail.

Sébas Diekstra, a lawyer for the victims, said the families expect the authorities to investigate each case. “The idea that someone who is tied to the care of their loved ones has had life or death has a lot to do with them. They are shocked, angry and also very sad ”, he told the local media Rtlnieuws.
