The electric 308 is now available to order in France, with a high-end…and expensive launch version.

Announced in September 2022, the e-308 is finally available for order in France. At least in a launch configuration, a special First Edition series. And you will still have to be patient if you are interested in the vehicle, because deliveries will begin in September 2023.

As a reminder, we find under the hood the new electric motor of 115 kW, or 156 hp. The vehicle has an NMC battery with a total capacity of 54 kWh and a useful capacity of 51 kWh. Peugeot indicates a combined cycle range of 411 km. There is an 11 kW three-phase on-board charger as standard. In direct current, the maximum recharge is capped at 100 kW.

We find on this First Edition variant new 18-inch rims, with an optimized design to improve their aero efficiency. Three colors are available: White Okenite, Green Olivine, or Gray Selenium. On board, there is specific upholstery, with upholstery combining Alcantara, fabric and TEP.

The First Edition is a bit like the model with all options included, or almost. There are thus as standard the Matrix LED headlights, the 3D digital instrumentation, the 10-inch touch screen with the row of customizable digital keys, the steering wheel and the heated front seats or even the Driver Assist semi-autonomous driving pack. The heat pump is standard.

The displayed price is particularly high, at €48,000, as we were able to discover on the online configurator, which puts him €1,000 over the limit to qualify for the €5,000 bonus! Of course, once this special launch series has passed, the electric 308 will return to more affordable prices on less equipped versions, but, of course, we can’t help but look at what the competition is already offering, like the Tesla Model 3 Propulsion at €41,990, the Renault Mégane EV60 from €42,000 or the MG 4 64 kWh starting at €35,990, all offering superior performance on paper.
