A violent incident took place last Monday in a cafe in Anderlecht, during which a man fired shots, the Midi police zone said on Saturday, confirming information revealed the same day by La Capitale. The waitress of this café on rue Edmond Delcourt was shot in the leg and seriously injured.
Several people were in the establishment at the time of the shooting, including children.
The prosecution has opened an investigation.
The incident is “probably linked to the drug scene”, said Saturday Sarah Frederickx, spokesperson for the Midi zone. The same cafe had recently made news when someone had thrown a grenade there, which turned out to be a practice grenade. The army demining service had then made the trip. The individual responsible for this incident is still at large.
