Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, held a meeting today, Saturday, with Dr. Sami Saad, the General Captain of Physiotherapy, and a delegation of members of the Syndicate Council, to discuss joint cooperation in supporting physiotherapy services, at the Ministry of Health headquarters.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, stated that the meeting discussed the challenges and needs necessary to develop the work of the physiotherapy services system in the ministry, which has a total of 761 departments, including 277 in hospitals, and 484 departments in primary care units nationwide.
Abdel Ghaffar added that the minister stressed the importance of cooperation with the Physiotherapy Syndicate to intensify training programs for new graduates and those assigned to work in the new physiotherapy departments in health units and medical centers that operate within the President’s initiative to enhance primary care services, which was implemented in 109 facilities, within 251 facilities. in the first phase of the initiative.
Abdul Ghaffar added that the meeting discussed the position of the Physiotherapy Syndicate regarding the proposals to establish colleges for “occupational therapy”, where the minister stressed the importance of developing new specializations in health care, in order to benefit the medical services provided to patients.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Muhammad Al-Tayeb, Assistant Minister of Health for Technical Affairs and Governance, Dr. Hazem Al-Fail, Head of the Therapeutic Medicine Sector, Dr. Wael Abdel Razek, Head of the Health Care and Nursing Sector, Dr. Ola Khairallah, Head of the Training and Research Sector, and Dr. Hisham Zaki, Head of the Central Administration for Non-Governmental Therapeutic Institutions. And licenses, and Dr. Nevin Awni, Director of the Physical Therapy Department, while the delegation of the Physiotherapy Syndicate Council included Dr. Sami Abdel Samad, member of the Council and Chairman of the Scientific Committee, Dr. Hafez Shawky, the Syndicate’s representative, and Dr. Ahmed Ezzat, Treasurer of the Syndicate.
