Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida visits Korea tomorrow.

Prime Minister Fumio Kishida will visit Seoul tomorrow, 52 days following the Korea-Japan summit in Tokyo.
The first schedule is a visit to the National Cemetery.
The leaders of the two countries will hold a summit meeting following an official welcome ceremony in the followingnoon.
The issue of the discharge of contaminated water from the Fukushima nuclear power plant, expected this summer, is expected to come up on the table at the meeting.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has already published an interim report stating that Japan’s discharge and monitoring plans for contaminated water can be trusted.
It is known that the government is asking Japan to send a verification team composed of Korean experts to Fukushima, separately from the IAEA.
A government official said, “It is not easy to convince the Korean people by participating in the IAEA.”
“The final decision will come at the summit,” he said.
As security and high-tech industries are also on the agenda, there is a high possibility that measures for cooperation in security and high-tech industries such as semiconductors and batteries will be discussed to respond to the North Korean nuclear issue.
Japanese media are observing that Prime Minister Kishida will once once more reveal his position that he will inherit the historical awareness of the previous cabinets in relation to the past.
The opposition party strongly protested once morest the discharge of contaminated water in Fukushima and emphasized once more that they should receive an apology from Japan for past history issues.
